Assistant Clinical Project Coordinator

Maplewood House and MSA Manor are senior residential care facilities in Abbotsford, operated under the Maplewood Seniors Care Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in supporting individuals with chronic illness. Our around the clock residential care serves 112 clients. We also run an Adult Day Program that serve an average of 85 clients a week.

We currently have a summer job opportunities, in partnership with Canada Summer Jobs, in areas of nursing care, program & activity, general administration and special projects. These positions will be open for 12 weeks ending, August 2018.

Position Title: Assistant Clinical Project Coordinator

Objective: To improve the data integrity of core clinical tools

• To validate that the resident clinical needs are being met through the nursing care plan and the activities for daily living. Students will perform audits and work with the resident’s to ensure that daily care provided matches the care plans. Students will audit the data integrity of the new Point Click Care system ensuring that the information is accurately recorded.
• To audit MSCS policies and compare them to the related Fraser Health Clinical Practice guidelines and resources. Develop and plan a routine on how to maintain updated policies.

Wage Rate: $14.01/hr

Hours: 37.50 hours per week for 12 weeks

Reports to: Care Manager

The student will interact directly with the resident and may be required to work some evenings or weekends.

This position is suitable for a student studying in the areas of nursing, therapeutic recreation or social services, who want to pursue their careers in Health and Long-Term Care Sectors. The student will have exposure to nursing care, residential operation and other healthcare related roles and responsibilities. The student will also assist in quality improvement initiatives.

Applicants must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
