We currently are seeking to fill casual positions at our Maplewood House location:

• Casual Dietary Aide

Overview – Dietary Aide

Under the direction and supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, this position participates in the preparation and assembly of meals by performing tasks such as washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits, and preparing beverages. This position also includes cleaning and washing trays, dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils, as well as cleans, and maintains all storage, kitchen, dining and related areas.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and complete tasks on schedule.
• Physical and mental ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.

Compensation: Commensurate with the current collective agreement.

Work Schedule: This position is on an on-call, as needed basis.

Maplewood House and MSA Manor are complex care homes in Abbotsford operated by Maplewood  Care Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in supporting individuals with chronic illness. There are 112 people who live in the two care homes. There is also an Adult Day Program serving an average of 65 clients per week and support for caregivers.
