Long-Term Care

We provide long-term care for older adults who need 24/7 professional nursing support and daily assistance.

Residents also have access to meals, recreation and activity programs, and a daily routine that supports connection, comfort, and time to rest.

Compassionate Care in a Comfortable Setting

Long-term care provides 24-hour support for older adults who can no longer safely live independently.

At Maplewood Care Society, residents receive professional nursing care, personal support, nutritious meals, recreation programs, and opportunities to stay connected and engaged.

Our goal is to help every resident feel safe, comfortable, respected, and at home.

Support for More Complex Care Needs

Maplewood Care Society includes two homes: Maplewood House and MSA Manor. Maplewood House has 78 ensuite rooms, with 76 funded by Fraser Health.

MSA Manor offers 34 ensuite rooms. Both homes provide a comfortable and supportive environment for residents.

Care Community

At MCS, we take the time to truly know each resident—their routines, preferences, and what makes them feel most at ease. Care here is personal, respectful, and built around helping every individual feel safe, supported, and at home within our community.

Our care teams are available around the clock to provide comfort, reassurance, and assistance whenever it is needed.

What Care Looks Like at MCS

Residents receive care and assistance based on their individual needs, including:

  • 24/7 Registered Nurse coverage, supported by Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Care Aides.
  • Regular assistance with dressing, grooming, transferring, toileting, mobility, eating, and bathing.
  • Assisted bathing in specially equipped spa rooms designed for additional safety, comfort, and dignity.
  • Ceiling and other mechanical lifts to support safe and comfortable transfers between resident suites and bathing areas.
  • Nurse call bell systems in each room for health emergencies or whenever personal assistance is needed.
  • Partnered pharmacy services to support safe and coordinated medication management.
  • Dietitian-developed and monitored therapeutic diets to meet residents’ individual nutritional and health needs.

Our goal is to provide dependable, respectful care while supporting each resident’s comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Residents enjoy three nutritious meals each day, along with snacks and refreshments.

We offer residents a variety of nutritious meal options, including three daily meals prepared in our kitchen and served in the dining room, seasonal menus, monthly theme specials, and an “Always Available” menu.

How to Access
Long-Term Care?

Admissions to Maplewood House and MSA Manor are coordinated through Fraser Health.

If you are a caregiver with a loved one who can no longer live safely or independently at home due to their complex health care needs such as progression of a chronic illness, disability, or mental frailty, contact Fraser Health and ask for an assessment. The Abbotsford office number is 604-556-5000. A Case Manager will arrange to visit, and then make an assessment based on physical, mental, and social factors. If your loved one is currently in hospital, the team there will assist you with the process.

Maplewood Care Society receives primary funding through the Fraser Health Authority and all admissions are arranged through Fraser Health. Preferred Care Home choice is accommodated whenever possible, but urgent admissions usually go to the first available bed in the region. If residents wish to move after admission, they may put their name on a transfer waitlist for another Care Home.
