Seasons come and seasons go – the year began with a harsh winter, the snow and ice making it challenging to get around, to do all that we wanted and needed to do. Repairs and clean-up were done from all the winter damage on roads, our homes, our yards.
Spring came and now summer, with its bright colours, fresh air and excitement of making the gardens anew in the warm weather. And so it is with the seasons of our lives. We experience hardships in our journey of life, often losing loved ones. Reconciled with the grief of our losses we once again recognize the beauty of new beginnings.
The butterfly also undergoes a major transformation process as part of its normal life cycle. The butterfly is viewed as a symbol of happiness, of joy, renewal and transformation. It is mild and gentle, at the same time a character of strength touching our hearts in difficult times.
This summer, residents and families are to release butterflies and celebrate with music and refreshments. Each Resident will receive a butterfly in an individual box and watch it fly renewed and transformed, into its new world
Residents and families will gather at:
∞ MSA Manor: Wednesday, August 15, 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the Garden
∞ Maplewood House: Thursday, August 23, 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the Bistro Garden
We look forward to this celebration.
