Accreditation with Commendation
As of May 2023, Maplewood Care Society successfully achieved Accreditation with Commendation with Accreditation Canada, which is used by over 10,000 sites in 30 countries.
This important milestone reflects the dedication and commitment of MCS staff to providing safe, high-quality, person and family centered care.

What Accreditation Means at MCS
Accreditation is a quality improvement process. It helps us identify what we are doing well and where we need to keep improving.
For us, accreditation is ongoing work, not a one-time milestone. It is part of how we strengthen quality, safety, and accountability across the organization.
This work includes required organizational practices, ongoing self-assessment, and a focus on the systems and processes that shape care every day. It involves the whole organization, from staff and volunteers to residents, families, and board members.
