A Place of Care with Deep Community Roots

Maplewood Care Society has been part of Abbotsford for more than 50 years. Through Maplewood House and MSA Manor, we support older adults with care that is shaped by community, daily life, and the people around them.

Our History

We began with a local effort to support low-income seniors in Abbotsford.

That effort led to the opening of MSA Manor in 1973, followed by Maplewood House in 1989.

Since then, we’ve continued to grow while staying connected to the purpose that shaped us from the start: supporting older adults in a community setting.

Maplewood Care Society Today

MCS supports older adults and families through two care homes and additional community-based programs.

As a care provider funded through Fraser Health Authority, we’re part of the public care system while staying grounded in local relationships and community life.

A Community Shaped by Care

Life at MCS is shaped by the people who are part of it. Families, staff, volunteers, and supporters all play a role in creating a place that feels warm, supportive, and connected.

That sense of community continues to matter as MCS looks ahead.

What Shapes Life at MCS

Daily life here includes more than care alone. Alongside professional support, there are opportunities for activity, meals, recreation, and connection throughout the day. We want MCS to feel welcoming and inclusive for residents, families, staff, volunteers, and the wider community.

Part of Public Care, Grounded in Community

We’re funded through Fraser Health Authority and support older adults with a range of care needs, including complex conditions that require ongoing support. We’ve always seen ourselves as part of the community, not apart from it. That connection continues to shape who we are and how we grow.

Growing with the Community

We’re in the design phase for a new, larger home that will bring MSA Manor and Maplewood House together into one location. This future home will allow us to support 125 residents while continuing our long-standing connection to Abbotsford.
